Do I need previous sailing experience?
Absolutely not. Climb aboard, sit back, relax and let our experienced crew transport you to idyllic coves and hidden harbours. If, however, you do want to get involved and learn a bit more about sailing, our crew will be only too happy to get you involved.
Where can I go?
Our yacht typically tours the Caribbean in the winter and the Mediterranean in the summer. But the joy of an Amanzi yacht charter is that where you go is entirely up to you. Simply decide where you’d like to start your trip and we will make it happen. Have a browse through our Destinations section for ideas of where to explore. From the spotless white sandy beaches of Martinique to the stunning turquoise waters of Sardinia, we’ve got it all covered. Your bespoke itinerary can be planned out with our team prior to your arrival, and further refined with your skipper once you board the yacht.
What’s included in the charter rate?
Full use of our luxury 56ft Oyster yacht complete with highly trained crew. Your charter period runs from midday of the first day until midday of the final day.
All other operating expenses are payable by the charterer and comprise (but are not restricted to) the following items: fuel and lubricating oils for the yacht, her tenders and motorised water toys; local taxes; pilotage; port, harbour and marina dues; customs clearance; water and electricity; personal laundry; all provisions, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks and consumables for the charterer’s party; telecommunication costs. Often, an Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) is set up to allow the crew to purchase provisions prior to your arrival and to cover any other costs such as fuel and harbour charges. This payment will be collected along with your final balance prior to your trip. Full accounts will be provided at the end of the charter and any remaining APA funds will be returned to you.
What do I need to bring with me?
As with most holidays, the general rule is: the least baggage you have the better. This truism is no different for yacht chartering. To help you pack, just imagine what it is that you are going to be doing while on your particular charter. Some of the time you may be swimming or sunbathing – other times you might be dining in a great seafood restaurant. The type of charter and location dictates what is advisable to bring. Some items which are worth considering are: light summer clothing such as shorts, tops, skirts, sun hats or caps, sandals, trainers or sneakers or soft soled athletic shoes, bathing and swim suites and warmer clothing for night wear such as sweatshirt, sweater, windbreaker, jeans, light pants. Also if you are going to cooler climates remember warmer clothing and a rain-jacket etc.
Remember to bring any personal items such as passports and visas as well as medication or personal sport equipment.
Softer luggage is ideal for fitting into cabin lockers and is generally more practical on a yacht.
What safety measures are employed aboard Amanzi?
Your safety is our utmost priority. All our crew members are trained to exacting standards including First Aid and resuscitation techniques. Life jackets, fire extinguishers, life rafts, safety belts, flares, EPIRB etc. are carefully inspected every year and renewed.
How do I get to the boat?
You need to book your own flights but we can happily arrange a transfer from the airport to the boat or you can hop in a taxi and we will meet you at the Marina specified.
Do you allow children?
Yes, we very much welcome children on board Amanzi. Chartering our yacht makes for the perfect family holiday. It is worth nothing that children will remain your responsibility throughout your charter period, although our crew are happy to babysit in the evenings to give you the chance to go ashore for a grown-up dinner.
What about pets?
Please leave your pets safely at home because we do not allow animals on board Amanzi.
Can I smoke on board?
Smoking is allowed up on deck but not in the seated area or inside the cabin.
What sports equipment is provided on the boat?
We have snorkelling gear on board as well as an inflatable stand up paddle board, an inflatable canoe, fishing equipment and two different towable inflatables. Hours of fun guaranteed!
